Hey.
Recently I've been having some pretty crippling lag and disconnections in STO. Made a post about it in this thread:

http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...225155&page=49

It was suggested the Cogent Boston hub might be the culprit. I really don't know, but I figured I could always use a second opinion on the data:

I have the same problem as this guy, same ISP as well. My launcher is acting up as well, downloading at like 0.1MB/s instead of the normal 3-4MB

This is happening with Neverwinter as well.

Same isp, in NS as the other two,

http://postimg.org/image/db469m6qt/full/

http://postimg.org/image/6fun2quj5/

These images are an extremely small sample set, which shows consistently that Cogentco is dropping packets, has massive latency spikes, and if the sets are left to run for any length of time, massive amounts of errors.

The Cogentco network is having issues. I'm not debating this with PWI tech support. Its not a question, its a statement. The network is horribly broken.

You people need to get off your a$$es and make a phone call to Cogentco, because its not getting better.

Same ISP, also in Nova Scotia, with the exact same issue. Kind of nice to know I am not alone.

I'm in Nova Scotia as well. Haven't been able to play in days. Constant disconnections (if I get connected at all).

Same thing here since the 29th too. Bell Aliant ISP and I haven't been able to patch at all.

One thing these all have in common is the east coast and the Boston server.

I'm trying to connect out of the Capital District of NY and I get the same results.

Started for me last week after the patch on the 21st.

I have no problem connecting to any site on the web Except when I try to play STO.
(I don't play NW so I don't know if it is a problem)

My tracerts all show the Boston cogent connection to be the problem.

I don't have any problem with the STO Launcher and patching, but as soon as I try to log into the game my modem freezes up and actually shuts down.

I can only get as far as the character load screen, that's the point at which I have to close the window to break the connection, so that my modem can reboot itself.

I had the same problem when LoR first launched, but eventually things straightened out.
(it seemed to fix itself just after the time that DStahl told us They were working with Their server company)

<sigh> be nice to be able to play the game again at some point.

From Central Florida and I've had a support ticket on this very same issue since October 12. The problem started October 1.

I have similar results via trace route and thus far the response from PW support has been the typical check firewall, open ports, run as admin, and even an incredulous "Wait and try again later". Is a month of this issue waiting later enough?

The second the transition occurs to cogentco time quadruple at minimum, even worse during peak times.

Irritating because I am ONLY seeing this with Perfect Worlds. No issues connecting to Steam Servers, Blizzard Battlenet, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network etc...
